Children at Ridgeway enjoy a wide variety of activities including music, art, drama, puzzles and games. Following a time in the main meeting on sunday mornings there is Sunday School for 4 to 11 year olds and a creche and nursery for younger children. Parents are actively involved in teaching the children and shaping the activities. The church also supports parents in teaching their own children at home through resources available in the Fountain Bookshop. During school term times parents and children are invited to Ridgeway Toddlers during the week.

Ridgeway Community Church is committed to following government and CCPAS guidelines on safeguarding and good working practice, including safe recruitment of workers. We work to a formal safeguarding policy and all teachers and helpers are CRB checked through CCPAS. The short Flash movie "Kids are safe here", embedded below will give you more details. Ridgeway Bible Detectives

Ridgeway Bible Detectives is a Bible teaching programme for chilren aged 8-11. Seven year olds look forward to becoming Bible Detectives on their eighth birthday!

This page gives you all the resources you need to lead your own children through privately, or to use Bible Detectives with a Sunday school. The children are given secret missions to complete and as they work their way through them they attain promotions to higher Bible Detective ranks. No Bible knowledge or any pre-preparation is required.

Ridgeway Bible Detectives is easy to run and engaging for the children!
Follow these simple steps:

Step 1
Bible Detectives begin at rank "Constable". Print off the "Bible Detective Badges" pdf below and cut out the "Bible Detective Constable" badge. Issue this to each child.
Bible Detective Badges

Step 2
The Ridgeway Bible Detective missions are listed in the table below in order of difficulty. It is usually best to progress the children through the missions in the order they are given, but this is not required; they can be attempted in any order. Click on the title to view the pdf and print off a copy of your chosen mission for each child. Issue it to them in a secret brown envelope if you wish!

Step 3
They may require your help to complete the mission; once they have done so cut out the mission card for them to take. Once a child has collected three mission cards they can be promoted to the next rank and issued with the next badge. Take the opportunity to do this in your main church meeting. Feel free to develop your own badges or other rewards.
