Meeting at the Ridgeway Centre, Wallingford

Going anywhere new can be difficult so here are a few things you may want to know about Sunday morning at Ridgeway Wallingford.

The meeting

Our Sunday morning meeting starts at 10.00 am. Although every week will be different, you can expect that our music group will lead us in singing songs both new and old. The congregation are encouraged to contribute throughout the meeting. Therefore, some people will pray or read scriptures, others will contribute testimonies, bring prophetic words or speak in tongues as was common in the early church. We share the Lord’s Supper together on a regular basis and encourage all believers in Jesus to participate. Every week we receive relevant and practical Bible teaching (often referred to as a sermon). The meeting usually ends around 11.30.

Children & Young People

Children and young people are always welcome at Ridgeway. In light of the fact that we believe that God loves his family to worship him together, we encourage children and young people to participate in part of the main worship service. However, in order to ensure age-appropriate teaching we provide crèche facilities and separate groups for children and young people up to the age of eighteen. All of our children and youth workers are C.R.B. checked and work in accordance with our Child Protection Policy. See Young People and Children for more details.

What to wear?

Although most people in the church dress casually on Sunday, we simply ask that you wear what you feel most comfortable in. We believe that God is more interested in our hearts than our wardrobes!

What to give?

Ridgeway is funded entirely through the free giving of its members. However we ask that if you are just visiting that you feel free to allow the offering bag to pass by without obligation or embarrassment.

Prayer and Pastoral Care

Although prayer is often offered at the end of the service, there is also a ‘prayer room’ (signposted) in which people can receive prayer at the end of a service. In addition, feel free to make your needs known to one of the Pastoral Care Group (identified by their badges).

Refreshments

At the end of the meeting tea, coffee (and, if you're quick, biscuits or cake) are served downstairs in the Minor Hall. We believe that this is an important time for people to get to know one another better.

Any other questions

If you have any questions that are not answered here, please feel free to ask the person who welcomed you at the door, one of the service leaders or a member of the Pastoral Care Group.

Meeting at Didcot

Ridgeway in Didcot also holds regular Sunday morning meetings at Northbourne Church Community Centre, Church Street, Didcot at 10.30am. All are welcome; please contact the Ridgeway Office or look at the Didcot website www.didcotchurch.org.uk for more details.
