Kenya's Beautiful Countryside - Balancing Rocks at Kombewa, near Kisumu

Teamwork Support Ministries is a Christian charity giving aid and support to pastors and projects around the world. It began work in the early 1980s and operates mainly in Kenya, from Kisumu on Lake Victoria to Lamu on the Indian Ocean. The ethos of Teamwork is to work together with local people in meeting local needs, both spiritual and physical. It has grown to support a variety of projects from orphanages, schools and children's homes to windpumps.

Teamwork is able to make a positive difference in these situations and many more thanks to the generosity of Teamwork supporters. If you would like to support Teamwork or find out more then please contact the Teamwork Office:

A selection of Teamwork supported projects is given below.

Amani Academy

Amani Academy is situated on Lamu Island off the east coast of Kenya. It caters for about 130 children; most apparently Manchester United supporters. Teamwork is assisting in the construction of more classrooms for the school (which gets the best results in the area and is highly sought after). We also provide fees and school meals for orphan children, most of whom are AIDS victims.

Kanyawegi Children's Home

Kanyawegi Children's Home is a converted fish processing plant in Kisumu on lake Victoria on the western tip of Kenya. It is home to many children who would otherwise be homeless and provides food, water, shelter and clothing. Love comes free and is plentiful - the staff are all Christians and called to their task. Their water supply is pumped manually from boreholes and everybody must take their turn on the pump.

PEFA Orphanage

At the PEFA Orphanage in Nairobi the children are well catered for and well fed and clothed. They have a school on the compound with over 30 children of which half have HIV. Not all of the children with HIV are being treated since the treatment costs about £12 per month and they do not start treatment unless they have the funds to finish it. Sadly, we don't yet know what the life expectancy of these children is.

And finally...a sign in a cafe in Nairobi: "Customers who find our waitresses rude ought to see the manager."
